1. Plasticizers
- Plasticizing is the injection of a low molecular weight liquid or solid into a polymer volume to make the polymer more pliable. Makes relative slipping between molecular circuits easier for the machine. Change the viscosity of the system. Increase the flexibility of the molecular chain and make the macromolecular structure more flexible.
- Plasticizers are substances that, when added to a material, increase the flexibility of the material. Plasticizers are widely used when processing polymeric materials.
- Plasticizers reduce the vitrification temperature (Tg) and melting point (Tm) of the polymer. It reduces the stiffness but increases the durability and toughness of the material. Softening of molecular chains and animating the macromolecular structure.
