1. FIRE-RATED DUCTS

- The ventilation duct system helps to circulate the exhaust gas out of the building/factory and provides the necessary amount of fresh air for the entire building. Fire-rated ducts have the same basic structure as normal duct systems but they have been treated with layers of flame-retardant material on the surface of the ductwork. This layer of material helps the duct to be able to withstand the impact of fire for a certain period of time.

2. Standards

The air duct system is probably not too strange to everyone. Because they appear a lot in our daily life. However, talking about fireproof ducts, they are still quite new in our country, hence, it is unlikely for most people to hear about them. Since the Ministry of Construction issued QCVN 06: 2020, fire-rated ducts have gradually become popular.

In the latest regulation according to Decree 136 on the law on fire prevention and fighting; regulation QCVN 06:2020/BXD – National technical regulation on fire safety for houses and works; the standard of the duct system applied in this new fire protection system has much higher changes. In which, the windpipe and external suction equipment in addition to ensuring the standard TCVN 5687:2010. They must also ensure that they are made from fireproof materials with fire resistance levels including various EI limits.
