1. What is hardwax oil?

+ Oil

The oil used is usually a vegetable oil such as linseed oil, which is pressed from the seeds of the flax. Flaxseed oil has a very small molecular size, which easily penetrates the wood cells.

Other oils used in the recipe could be safflower oil, soybean oil, tung oil, thistle oil, and others.

+ Wax

Besides the oil part, wood cleaner also contains natural hard waxes. Common waxes are beeswax and carnauba wax.

2. Origin and application:

+ Hardwax Oil Paint originated from Europe, and the use of wood cleaning oil in the interior is gradually becoming popular in the North American market.
