PERLITE APPLICATION FOR FIRE-RESISTANT BRICK
Perlite can be used to produce fire-resistant brick in kilns and heat treatment plants. The reason for this application is due to the excellent heat-insulating and fire-resistant properties of Perlite. Because they have a special structure, formed in a special environment. Meanwhile, perlite is not harmful to the environment and contains no toxic asbestos, so it is very safe to use. Therefore, using perlite can be considered a green technology method.

The principle of fire-resistance of perlite
Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content, typically formed by the hydration of obsidian. It occurs naturally and has the unusual property of greatly expanding when heated sufficiently. It is an industrial mineral, suitable "as a ceramic flux to lower the sintering temperature", and a commercial product useful for its low density after processing.
The high temperature causes Perlite to expand in volume over 1000 degrees Celsius. Therefore, when using Perlite as refractory brick, the ingredients used are already expanded, so they become inert to temperature. In addition, Perlite does not corrode. They can be crushed but hardly corroded. In addition, their lightweight makes them extremely suitable for use as heat-resistant bricks in projects requiring high temperatures.
- Low thermal conductivity
- Dimensions are stable, do not change due to temperature
- High compressive strength
- Good thermal shock resistance
- Use on safe fire surface
How is Perlite used for making refractory bricks?
Perlites used for making refractory bricks are mainly used in continuously operating factories. Especially, for ceramic industry factories, it is impossible without heat-resistant Perlite stone bricks. They are often used to build chambers, fireplaces, cellars, coking furnaces, and mills. In addition, refractory Perlite bricks are also used in petrochemical processing plants, lining combustion chambers.
Using Perlite Brick makes construction easier. The application of insulation properties of Perlite as refractory bricks gives the insulation construction industry a completely perfect product. Contact Mega Vietnam when need to buy Perlite in large quantities.
