POPULAR AUTOMOTIVE PAINTS YOU SHOULD KNOW
1. Acrylic Lacquer
Between 1920 and 1960, Lacquer Acrylic paints became commonly used. Up to now, this type of automotive paint is still popular thanks to its low price, ease to use even for inexperienced car painters. It can be used with paint spray guns, and gives many options for glossy colors and high durability sets.
In some European countries, this paint is now banned due to its high toxicity. Although Acrylic Lacquer is durable to physical forces, its resistance to UV rays and cleaning chemicals is low, so in general, the life of the paint is not high. People often apply a layer of Acrylic Urethane paint on top to help improve the weakness of Acrylic Lacquer.
2. Acrylic Enamel
Compared to Lacquer Acrylic Paint, Enamel Acrylic Paint has better durability, providing longer service life. It is sprayed on the surface of the vehicle through a spray gun, using a nylon lining. Enamel Acrylic Paint is less glossy. It is one of the most expensive paints.

3. Urethane
To ensure a super durable and long-lasting finish, some Garage Service Advisors may recommend this Urethane paint. Do not be too surprised because this is a costly paint product. It's more expensive than the two above types of coating. Also, it requires a highly skilled technician.
To ensure a short drying time of the paint, technicians need to know how to add color, pigment smoothing agent, and catalyst. Paints after mixing need to be used quickly to prevent them from drying out before spraying on the surface of the car. All excess paint must be discarded due to its high degree of toxicity and after a certain period of time, they are no longer usable.
If you have scratches on the engine parts, use this type of paint because they are resistant to high temperatures. In fact, Urethane can be painted on any surface of the car body because it does not react with other paints. It gives your car a shiny look for many years without much care.
4. Water-Based Paint
If you are an environmental protector, then water-based paint is an option for you. Water-based paint is easy to apply and it can even be sprayed over existing paint. The color of water-based paint is somewhat limited compared to other paints.
