1. Introduction to PU2K

Polyurethane paint  (PU paint) is a hard-wearing, highly-resistant coating used in industrial and architectural coating systems for steelwork, concrete, wood, and other substrates. 

2. Classification

In the PU2K coating industry, two common types of curing agents (hardening) are TDI and HDI.

Toluene diisocyanate (TDI) is an organic compound with the formula CH3C6H3(NCO)2. All isomers of TDI are colorless, although commercial samples can appear yellow.

Hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) is the organic compound with the formula (CH2)6(NCO)2. It is classified as a diisocyanate. It is a colorless liquid.

Also, it is possible to mix between two types of TDI and HDI to form semi-yellow curing. Overcoming some disadvantages of TDI, the price is cheaper than the HDI line.
