RUBBER EXPORT INCREASES BY NEARLY 80% IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2021

According to The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in June 2021, Vietnam's rubber exports will reach about 130,000 tons, worth 221 million USD, up more than 57% in volume and 54.2% in value compared to May 2021.

Compared to June 2020, rubber export reduced by 4.7% in volume, but increased by more than 36% in value; The average export price was at USD 1,700/ton, decreasing by nearly 2% compared to May 2021, but up 42.8% compared to June 2020.

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 5 months of 2021, most of the exported rubber categories achieved expected growth compared to the same period in 2020.

Notably, Latex, RSS1, synthetic rubber, SVR 10, RSS3, SVR 3L, SVR CV60... all increased sharply in both volume and value over the same period in 2020.

In the first 5 months of 2021, the mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber (HS 400280) was the most exported item, accounting for 60.23% of the country's total rubber exports, with 331,860 tons, worth USD 536.4 million, up more than 64% in volume and 96.7% in value over the same period in 2020.

In which, exports to China accounted for 99.5% of the country's total export of natural rubber and synthetic rubber, reaching 330,190 tons, worth $533.26 million, up more than 65% in volume and increased 98% in value over the same period in 2020.

In terms of export prices, in the first 5 months of 2021, the average export price of most types of rubber increased compared to the same period in 2020, except for synthetic rubber and regenerated rubber whose average export price decreased. 

In which, some types of rubber have a sharp increase in average export prices over the same period in 2020 such as Latex up 38.6%, RSS1 up 37.7%, RSS3 up 32.4%, SVR CV60 up 30 .2%, SVR 3L increased by more than 29%, SVR CV50 increased by more than 28%...
