RUBBER IMPORTS  FROM CAMBODIA HAS RISEN BY OVER 500%

In the first 6 months of 2021, the value of Vietnam's rubber imports from Cambodia increased by more than 500% over the same period last year.

According to the General Department of Customs, in June 2021, rubber imports of all kinds reduced in volume, value and price compared to May 2021, with a corresponding decrease of 3.7%, 6.3% and 2.7%, reaching 130,720 tons, equivalent to USD 205.7 million, priced at 1,573.6 USD/ton; compared to June 2020, the corresponding increase is 81%, 145.8% and 35.7%.

Generally, in the first 6 months of 2021, the whole country imported 872,788 tons of rubber of all kinds, equivalent to 1.28 billion USD, the average price was 1,471.6 USD/ton, up 133.5% in volume, up 141.5% in turnover and 3.4% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2020.

Rubber imported to Vietnam are mainly from Cambodia, accounting for 56.5% of the total volume and 40.8% of the total rubber import turnover of the country, reaching 493,513 tons, equivalent to USD 524, 56 million, the average price is 1,062.9 USD/ton, increasing in both volume, turnover and price over the same period in 2020, with an increase of 414.2%, 508% and 18.3% respectively. Particularly in June 2021, imports from this market increased by 11% in both volume and turnover compared to the previous month, but decreased slightly by 0.9% in price, reaching 72,131 tons, equivalent to USD 81.65 million. 

In addition to the main market of Cambodia, Vietnam also imported 75,077 tons of rubber from Korea, worth USD 158.46 million, priced at USD 2,110.7/ton, increasing in both volume, value, and price over the same period last year. the previous year, with an increase of 12.5%, 64.9%, and 46.7% respectively; imported 49,588 tons from China, worth USD 113.45 million, up 115% in volume and 182.7% in turnover; imported 43,650 tons from Taiwan, worth USD 97.86 million, increased sharply by 98.8% in volume and 153.4% ​​in turnover; from Japan 33,768 tons, worth USD 88.64 million, up 11.7% in volume and 30% in turnover.
