ABOUT ACRYLIC POLYURETHANE COATING

1. Definition

Acrylic Polyurethane 2K Coating is a 2-component paint system based on Acrylic polyol and isocyanate resin. It's used as a topcoat for a variety of materials thanks to its good weather ability properties.

Acrylic polyol (2K) resin contains OH groups in the molecule, so in the process of drying the paint surface, it needs to react with isocyanate (NCO).

2. Features: Quick-drying, high gloss, and hardness, no yellowing, good solvent resistance, weather resistance...

Advantages:

PU 2K paint has the advantage that it has high smoothness, and higher gloss than conventional paint systems, they have good adhesion and fewer scratches than other conventional paint systems. An outstanding advantage is that it has high waterproof protection, so it is very suitable for high-class outdoor wood paint products, outdoor floor primers, ship coatings, or paints on cars and motorcycles. They are less prone to yellowing, increasing the time to repaint the product.

Disadvantages

The disadvantages of this paint system are the average drying time, extended production time, and higher cost than conventional products. Regarding the paint mixing ratio, it is required to follow the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure a strong effect. However, you do not need to worry because most paint manufacturers have clear mixing ratio instructions for their 2K paint systems.

3. Applications
