RUBBER EXPORTS IN MAY INCREASED SHARPLY 

The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) estimates that in May 2021, Vietnam's rubber exports will reach about 80,000 tons, worth US$139 million, increasing by over 26% in volume and 7.2% in value compared to April 2021; increased by 7.2% in volume and nearly 55% in value compared to May 2020.

The average export price was $1,738/ton, reducing by 2.2% compared to April 2021, but going up by 44.6% compared to May 2020.

Accumulated in the first 5 months of 2021, rubber exports are estimated at 548,000 tons, worth US$923 million, increasing by 58.7% in volume and 94% in value over the same period in 2020.

According to calculations from the statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 4 months of 2021, the mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber (HS: 400280) is the most exported item. It accounts for 60.89% of the country's total rubber exports, with 285,090 tons, worth US$459.18 million, increasing by 87% in volume and 116.3% in value over the same period in 2020.

In which, exports to China accounted for 99.53% of the country's total mixture of natural and synthetic rubber exports, with 283,740 tons, worth US$456.58 million, going up by 88.8% in volume and increased 118.3% in value over the same period in 2020.

In general, in the first 4 months of 2021, most types of rubber exports achieved strong growth compared to the same period in 2020. Notably, some types such as Latex, RSS1, synthetic rubber, SVR 10, RSS3, SVR 3L, etc increased sharply in both volume and value compared to the same period in 2020.

In May 2021, the price of raw rubber latex had many fluctuations, the purchasing price of raw rubber latex was continuously adjusted by companies.
