APPLICATION OF ZINC STEARATE

1. What is zinc stearate?

- Zinc Stearate has the formula (Zn(C₁₈H₃₅O₂)₂), Zinc Stearate a soap form of zinc is a very fine, soft, and white powder. It is a high-quality raw material with an exceptionally small particle size. It does not have a strong odor, although there may be a slight fatty acid odor due to the long-chain fatty acids.

- Zinc Stearate is insoluble in water, and polar solvents such as alcohols and ethers, but is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene and chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds when heated.

2. Application:

- White powder, easy to hygroscopic, has a slippery feel and is flammable.

- Zinc stearate is widely used in the paint industry for its glossiness. In wood paint, it is used in primers.

- In the rubber industry, polyurethane, and polyester industries, it is used as a metal washing agent and as a mold washing agent in powder metallurgy.

- It also serves as an auxiliary stabilizer for Ba/Cd and Pb radical stabilizing systems.

- As a lubricant in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, wood, plastic, packaging... to improve softness and adhesion, against sunlight.
