VERMICULITE - FIREPROOF MORTAR
In the construction works of the oil and gas industry such as offshore drilling rigs, oil refineries, petroleum product depots, and load-bearing steel structure buildings in the world, there are always requirements for the passive fireproof material system to protect steel structures and employee's working areas to ensure safety for the work and for workers when a fire occurs. In some countries such as Russia, the US, or Japan, the regulations on the use of materials to ensure the safety of people and construction works when there is a fire have been set out for a long time and are regularly reviewed, adjusted, and supplemented to meet the rapidly developing needs of society. Currently, in Vietnam, the issue of fire prevention and fighting is getting more and more attention.
1. What is fireproof mortar?
Fireproof mortar is actually called dry mortar; relatively convenient use in the construction industry. Fireproof mortar helps to protect structures in case of fire, ensuring safety for people and work.
Fireproof Mortar (Vermiculite Gypsum) has a Vermiculite composition, cement base combined with additives, a low-density product designed for interior and exterior fire protection on concrete and metal, etc.
The most outstanding feature of the mortar is its easy use, which does not require complicated construction conditions. However, noting that the longer the fire resistance time, the thicker the mortar layer will be. (In addition, the thickness of the mortar layer depends on the structure of the structure). The relationship between the thickness of the fireproof mortar layer and its structure.
The ideal construction conditions are when the air temperature is > 10ºC, the air humidity is
