1. Definition 

Optical photoinitiators in UV are understood as consisting of one or more molecules combined, when exposed to UV light, a rapid polymerization reaction occurs, the combination with UV light causes a chemical reaction, pushing fast curing of the paint film, surface drying, and penetration drying.

2. Application

Photointinator (PI) is mainly used in coatings, maintaining gloss, reducing the possibility of cracks and spots on plastic or wood surfaces. Photointinator (PI) commonly used as hydroxyphenyl benzotriazole, is a light yellow transparent liquid with a low viscosity agent that accelerates the drying of paint films:

- Conventional industrial metal coating for interior/exterior

- Application of coating of interior / exterior plastic components

- Interior/exterior wood coatings for flooring, furniture, or factory applications

- Automotive surface or refinishing applications

- Exterior building coatings (roofing, etc.)

- Construction adhesive

3. How to use

The amount used in the paint formulation depends on the application of industrial or decorative paint, wood, or plastic surfaces. As an additive to accelerate the curing process, the amount used is relatively small, only in the range of 1-3% as required.
